Virginia's volunteering experiences

Virginia is a volunteer in Online Karviná, low-treshold facility for excluded youth. Let´s read a bit more about her volunteering experiences.

" One of our miniproject is focused on sport activities with clients in club and streetwork. In cooperation with STARS s.r.o. Karviná, having advantageous price, we started them in November and we would like to continue in following months." Petra Němcová

"As for the ping pong activity, I think it's a good experience. I love sports, especially ping pong is a sport that I have had in my life since I was a teenager. Therefore, being able to share this activity with them was very important to me since I consider it as a way to connect my hobbies and know more about the people I work with. I also really enjoyed sharing my culture, the history of Spain and gastronomy in organizing Quiz for children. As Christmas time is coming closer, we enjoyed baking some confectionery with children."

"I would like to also mention Mikulas day. It was a new activity in streetwork. The fact of proposing a new activity and with successful results for clients, it made me feel very happy because I enjoyed it a lot with them. In streetwork I play games with them mostly all the time so Mikulas, at least for me because it is something from Czech culture, it is a kind of Santa that goes with an angel and a demon. In this case we gave them some sweets. They had to sing a familiar song about Mikulas and the angel gave them as an exchange sweets:) What I really liked the most was to see a lot of kids approach us, smiling, singing...it was something different. I enjoyed it because it comes from Czech culture and also I was happy because my co-workers were enjoying:) Thanks so much!" Virginia
