On-Arrival Seminar 2024 in Kunčice pod Ondřejníkem

Traditionally, we have officialy greeted the new generation of volunteers on our On-Arrival seminar! ⭐ This year, we have enjoyed the beautiful views from a mountain resort in Kunčice pod Ondřejníkem, and although the seminar happened in the last week of September, we have still enjoyed warm and sunny weather 🌞  - well, at least for a couple of days of the seminar! 😀

What did we do in there? The group made of 17 volunteers and 3 coordinators focused on the following:

✨ Reflecting their motivation for the voluntary service and the target group they are helping with!

✨ Defining the next steps they will focus (we made sure that the short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals for each volunteers are set!), and planning the volunteer´s miniprojects!

✨ We deepened our intercultural understanding during the intercultural evenings! Each volunteer presented the main facts, curiosities, and cultural aspects of their countries - which also strenghten their presentation and communication skills! Also, we explored the Czech culture with the volunteers, as we visited the beautiful town of Čeladná and we peaked into Czech cousine (and working culture 🤭) during our visit in Marlenka cake factory.

✨ The group was joined by their supervisors, and they were given the opportunity to plan the upcoming journey together and set milestones together! 

✨ We have also focused on "eco lifestyle" during the seminar - for instance, we gifted our volunteers water bottles, so that they do not need to use plastic bottles or cups. Also, we had a creative workshop, where the volunteers came with their own ideas on how to live a more eco-friendly life.

The seminar was completed successfuly! Our volunteers said that they have enjoyed the seminar, and in some cases, it was above their expectations!
