THE MISSION OF THE PLACEMENT:

This centre provides three types of service: a day care centre, a social activation service for people with disabilities, and early care counselling. The mission of the day care service is to regularly help and support the people with disabilities, depending on their individual needs, wishes and capabilities. It provides social care, counselling and other professional help to develop the users’ skills and capabilities so that they are more self-sufficient in everyday life.

ACTIVITIES:

The volunteer’s main activity in the day care and social activation services will be to: support and help the service users, assist the service users during various therapeutic activities, for example therapy with horses, kinesitherapy or ergo therapy and to assist the service users during practical activities, accompany them during walks around the centre and garden, etc.

PREFFERED PERSONAL TRAITS:

to be unafraid of communicating (verbally and non-verbally),
have a positive attitude to life,
to be patient (In this work, even simple things require a longer time.)
It is important to be proactive
to have will to learn the Czech language.

EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR:

During the year, you will have the chance to participate in various events of the centre (events for parents, various Christmas or Easter celebrations, Mother’s Day, New Year service etc.)

GROWING THROUGH CHALLENGES:

The challenges you may face and grow through are:

Overcoming the fear of working with children with disabilities - you will learn how to be unafraid of helping people with disabilities.
Overcoming various prejudices – learning how to keep an open mind and how to work personally with each pupil or student.
